Smooth sailing for new gin brand launch.

The Client.
Launched in June 2020, the Oystermen Gin brand was inspired by the founders love for the Essex coastline (and gin!). A unique and distinctive gin, it is infused with oyster leaf, a flowering sea plant that grows in cold climates around the shores of the UK.

The Brief.
Create a brand that will stand out in a highly competitive marketplace that captures the essence of the Essex coast and celebrates local artists.

The Solution.
Defining a new brand for launch is a big responsibility and at the same time hugely exciting, being integral to its future success. Our solution was hailed as the perfect representation of the company, its vision for the product and its values.

To bring to life the Essex coastline we chose a colour scheme inspired by traditional fisherman’s waterproofs. A nautical theme was created inspired by local artists, an illustration from James Dodds’ “Pioneer at Sea” artwork, and words from poet Martin Newell’s “The North Sea”. Hand-drawn ingredient illustrations and uncoated stock for a natural tactile feeling added depth to the brand.

Despite launching at a very challenging time for the hospitality industry Oystermen Gin has made its mark and continues to grow in popularity.
